Introduction The integrated patient-centered, evidence-based approach to care recognizes the role of patient preferences. A discrete choice experiment (DCE) was developed with aim identifying preferences men prostate cancer in Italy regarding different risk-benefit factors various treatment options. Methods DCE support patients and oncologists based on a targeted scoping review. final included 26 sets divided into two blocks. first block focused all (both metastatic non-metastatic), while second aimed assess for hormone-sensitive (mHSPC). Patients were asked choose from ten attributes six block. identify levels statistically significant impact Preference estimates calculated using conditional logit regression model results stratified by stage (metastatic or non-metastatic) Results total 202 (mean age 72 years) completed DCE. In block, most important attribute quality life (QoL), particularly cancer. other three found be significant, order relevance patients, risks experiencing cognitive impairment, hematologic complications, fatigue. For mHSPC, QoL strongest determinant preference. risk fatigue also relevant attribute, followed skin irritation.
